The TBFL1 is a combined transient limiter, attenuator and high pass filter in one. It is looped into the signal path to optimally protect the input of the spectrum analyzer or measurement receiver. This applies in particular to the measurement of conducted emissions or other measurements where the input level cannot be predicted or accidental overload may occur. So-called PIN and Schottky diodes in combination with a multi-stage 10 dB attenuator provide a device that can handle a continuous RF input level of up to 5 W (37 dBm). A gas discharge tube provides additional protection against high voltage transients. In addition, the 9 kHz high-pass filter suppresses harmonics caused by mains voltage. With a threshold level of +11 dBm and a flat frequency response in the range of 9 kHz to 600 MHz, the TBFL1 can be used universally in the entire range of line-bound noise emission and many other applications.
